i have 2 black percula's in my nano and the little guy keeps moving to the bottom and laying down. but as soon as i come up to the tank he get lively again. do i need to worry?:confused:

clowns are clowns, just like their name. They do all kinds of stuff that doesn't seem 'normal' to us. If he looks good, is breathing normally and eating all is probably fine. :)

If clowns have'nt picked a host, they host the sand, always freaks out new clown owners:D

Mine does that all the time you should only worry if he is rubbing against the rocks or not eating or if he's laying fully down in the sand and breathing heavy

As far as clowns go I am constantly torn between thinking they have the most personality of all my fish and thinking they are the dumbest most inept things to ever swim in my tanks.

Be happy yer clown is hosting the sand, mine hosted a maxi-jet.

Am I mean for taking it away from them?

no not really..... some living things are stupider... i had an octopus... about 3 inches.. then i decided to buy a clownfish... octopus+clownfish= alot of water changes.. and dead cash.. =/ haha
