Hey there for the past few days my tomato clown has been acting very strange recently. Hes been sleeping completely parallel on his side on the sand bed. When I first saw him in the morning I thought he was dead, but once I turned the lights on he started swimming again (He used to sleep vertically with his head facing the top of the tank). Later on in the day I notice the sand bed towards the front of my tank has been getting somewhat thicker. I look in the back and it turns out my tomato is burrowing in the sand. I observed him for a few minutes and it looks like hes spitting sand out of his mouth . He doesnt look sick at all and the color is still a vibrant dark red. Now today it seems like hes only staying underneath his cave or swimming into the frogspawn as if hes trying to host it.

Info that could be of some help
5 gallon Hex tank (soon to be upgrading to a 50)
35oz Water changes every 4-5days
Fed lightly every day with a mixture of flake and frozen
Ive had him since January
Only fish in the tank

thats normal for tomato's
some clowns host the sand before they decide to host other things
sometimes they host powerheads
They are CLOWNS, you expect them to act normal?:D
