It will depend on the type of class that you will take lenght of class it will avarage around $200 not including literature i suggest using the CD version of the literiture is better its up to 2 user and that another savings

My buddy & I are in the process of getting certified right now (Open Water Diver) through a guy named Jesse with sandiegoscubacenter. He's running a 2 for 1 special (Craigs List) ($199 per person) if you have a buddy that wants to get certified too. All necessary gear is included. He's a cool guy & he can work with your schedule.
