Q re: quieting a 1.5: overflow?

All right, Chap came over and helped me set up that 40L I bought from Ron. The tank's drilled for a 1.5" overflow, so that's what I built.

Now how the heck to I get rid of the noise?

The overflow that Chap went home with was easy after Ofer (FishProf) let me in on the secret of putting an airline hose down the drain hole till it quieted down. Is this as easy?

for my noise problem, i jus drilled a hole atop my elbow of my drain pipe, alowing trapped air to esc. and water draining evenly.

hope this explains it a lil better, this was a hole i drilled for my fuge that help reduce the toilet flushing like noise.
