After a several years lay off , 6 heart attacks and 6 operations I finally acheived my goal of getting back to racing flattrack bikes. I went to a 2 day event at Willow Springs race park north of Lancaster. Saturday was race day and I reinjured a pulled groin musle I got 2 weeks earlier at a pratice session in Perris. Sunday I was in bad shape but said F it and took 3 Advils and raced throuh the pain. Got 4th place in my heat race and 7th place in the 8 lap main event 500cc support class. A couple of more laps and I would have had 6th place or better. I was 12th going into the first turn after a bad start. Not bad considering I am 50 years old and it was my first race in 7 years and at a track I had only been to one time before. Going to racing school this weekend to get faster.....even if my leg is killing me still. I want that #1 plate in the 50 plus division.

One has to wonder what part of " 6 heart attacks " didn't he understand? LOL!!! The last one only 9 weeks ago.

Yea let's do the photo shoot soon. I was actually at the Hungry stick this last Tuesday night on my new street bike. I was only there for a few minutes to show a couple of guys the bike and since I don't know what you look like I could not try to find you. Maybe in the next few weeks we can make it happen.

G' your bike is awesome, I'm glad I got to see it in person. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0159.gif (http://www.ranksurge.com)
You'll grab #1 man. I saw all those #1 trophies you got and I thought I was at the hall of fame or something in your garage (man hut). Thought I was going to have a heart attack staring at all that stuff myself.
It's always nice talking to you, lots of wisdom.

You are truely a man after my own heart! You must love motorcylces as much as I! I'm actually on my way to the desert right now! What a comeback you have made! You must bleed oil from those veins! I have ridden a lot of different motorcycles in the last 32 years. GP, Supercross, Motocross, Desert, Dune, Hare Scrambles, Trials, Mini's. Its good to know that at 50, I still got a chance to shred it up. I would like to see you race next time. I grew up around Willow springs. Headin up to LACR next weekend. I have 2 more bike to ride before I throw in the towel, speedway and ascot. Keep up the good work! You obviously know how to really have fun!

Yep it sort of amazes me that I have recovered to the point that I can go racing and actually be fairly competitive at in still.
If you want to go to a good flattrack race just PM me and I will send you the schedule. We race up the road in Perris once a month and will be back at the big track at Willow again in September for a 2 day event and then at Pamona in the fall also where most of the top national Pro's will be racing for big money.
FYI Ascot closed some years ago but you can still race Speedway at Costa Mesa and at Perris where we race flattrack. Come on out on pratice days and I will let you ride my flattracker.

It was fun having you over SD. the frags are doing good still and I have more bikes on the way and hopefully more throphy's if my body holds up for the racing season.
