My 125 gal. Reef

Now that I upgrated my digital camera, I managed to get a few decent shots of my tank. The tank has been up and running since April 2004. It is a 125 gallon Lee-Mar tank (72"x18"x22") with a 30 gallon sump. A Dolphin Ampmaster 2100 return pump feeds three Sea Swirls. The flow is supplemented with three Maxi-Jet 1200's. Lighting consists of two 175W Ushio 10k metal halides and two actinic 96W power compacts. Other equipment includes an Euro-Reef CS8-2 skimmer, Aqua Logic 1/4hp chiller, Advanced Reef Technologies K2R Calcium Reactor, and Neptune Systems' Aquacontroller II.

Yes it was a new tank that was started in April 2004. Growth has been pretty good so far....

TANK OF THE YEAR!! Awesome tank :) what lights, skimmer and filtration? What do you dose for your pink yuma to live? I've had 4 of them, and all of them either floated away or died :(

All of the tank specs are listed in the first post of this tread. To recap, lighting consists of two 175W Ushio 10k metal halides and two actinic 96W power compacts. The skimmer is an Euroreef CS8-2. I run carbon 24/7 (change weekly), dose only kalk as my top off, and do weekly 10% water changes. I don't really do anything special for the rics except keep them in a partially shaded area.

I will try and get some new pics of the birdnests this week. Last I counted, the lord colony was up to 40 polyps.

Right now I'm using Kent Reef Carbon (the big 7lb containers are only $32 from That Fish Place).

I keep 3 bags in the sump 24/7. They are changed out weekly, though staggered (change one on Sat., next one on Mon., the final on Thurs.).
