That is a thumb war injury. when the athlete applies too much pressure with the thumb during a "full orlov" technique, the index finger can suddenly rupture against an opponents finger, if the opponent applies a "randalls escape" to counter. He's gonna miss this years finals for sure. too bad, uzbleckifstan will surely take the title now.

Shot off the tip of my left thumb with a 357 magnum. Amazing surgery to repair it. That one is half an inch shorter. Going into shock is a wonderful thing!
