I want to build a stand based on the ADA design, and while I'm okay with aesthetics, I'm no engineer or carpenter. I was hoping you guys could help me put together a plan, such as what kind of wood to use, how thick to make the frame, etc.

I'm probably going to just hire someone to do the actual making, since I'm no good at it...

Well, this was what I was thinking of:

I'm hoping it'll look something like this:

Except it will probably look more square-y.

I'm going to just use a regular AGA 40 breeder until I can scrouge together enough money in the distant future to replace it with a 90-P ADA tank.

The ADA tank has a smaller width than the AGA tank (17.7" vs 18.25") but otherwise has the same floorplan dimensions. I'm hoping to have a 29 gallon sump in the stand.
Also, ignore the holes on the top of the stand; that idea had to be scrapped because there's not enough space.

Ok, so I think I want to drill at least the AGA tank (not sure if I will for the ADA tank). Can someone point out where I would want to put holes in the stand then?

Where would it be better to drill the back of the tank, in case I want to put sand in it?
