some type of encrusting sponge perhaps.

not a dendronepthea for sure. it would have little polyps on it, not so smooth. I toss my hat in with the sponges if it is soft...encrusting something else if it is hard.

I think you're growing corn :D My best guess is a type of sponge. you might try RC for ID.

its hard not soft... so i dont think its a sponge

and boogers are green... well brown after a long day of work :)

Can you take a photo of it in water? Seems to have polyps, can you zoom in on those?

BTW, not all sponges are soft but this doesn't look like any sponge I've seen before.

Looks like a hard coral to me, just receded a little.
