No more ugly ass shelves hanging everywhere, now just ugly ass corals.

Can you provide more details on your new frag setup. I became disgusted with mine and ended up just making it into an sps tank. I still would like a frag tank but constantly having to clean the egg crate really sucks.

thanks,

George

Very nice!

You busy on Saturday? I'll have pizza+beer as bribes for those willing to help set up the 120.... :)

is your light really gonna stay about 2' away from the surface? if so, why?

24" X 24" X 14" glass tank drilled in the back left corner.

Single Tunze Turbelle Stream 6080 stuffed underneath the eggcrate shelves providing lots of flow.

Painted the eggcrate and pipe black to be a bit more presentable. I haven't ever had an issue with cleaning shelves before, they just turn purple -no nuissence algae.

PFO halide pendant shell w/ 14K Hamilton SE lamp and running off of an ASM HQI ballast.

Should be free. It's about time you built that thing.

New bulb and kind of built the wires shorter than I thought. It'll get moved down pretty soon.

I don't have to clean my eggcrate in my prop tank now, the damn acros started encrusting on it. DOH!

That happens quite a bit. I've got several that've glued themselves onto the shelves much better than I thought. Oops.

Hey Charles, how about a close up? what are the tank specs(plumbed into main system, flow devices, gallons)? Do you think I can get a closeup how you have the eggcrate supported?

The tank is 24" X 24" X 14" (34.9 gallons = L * W * H / 231).

Plumbed into the main tank w/ new water being triclked in. Powered with a single Tunze Turbelle Stream 6080 (21-watts, 2240 gal/ hr).

The shelves are a triple layer of eggcrate zip tied onto a pvc framework.

Thanks that is exactly what I wanted. Hey Charles, is the purpose to the triple thick to make it rigid?

chin_monster

It does make it more rigid, but it's more to keep the ORA-type plug posts from jingling around so much.
