Anyone have helpful hints on what to do to help your aquarium survive in a power outtage? Short of moving the stuff out.

Buy a PC power backup, some are enough to power your PH's and skimmer for afew hours

I have had two in the last month...have used a Honda EU2000i

Very nice, quiet, runs all the tanks. Used less than 3 gals of gas over 12 hours or so...

LMK if you ever need it..

Otherwise you are worrying about temp, O2, etc...nothing like seeing a tank full of suffocated fish to inspire future action...

Wire an inverter to a deep cycle battery. Search around here, instructions are not hard to find.

Inverter will work also..you can get a 600watt one for $40...set up a couple of deep cycle batteries along with a solar panel charger for the batteries...or plug it into your car cigarette lighter...I've pretty much done it. Just enought to run a powerhead and an airpump. I use that setup in baja to run a tv/dvd...

I had my power cut for 12 hours one time for a maintenance issue and my tanks suffered no ill effects at all. FYI

55 db or something like that...You can see them on CL, eBay, I am looking for one for a friend...around $900...but worth it. Might not need the 2000 series..

The Marine cycle batteries, inverter, milk crate with solar charger idea is still not that expensive...I need to make one.
