Not the steadiest person either...How come with flash it steadys the camera and without its a blur?

get a tripod. also you can reduce the blur by setting the shutter speed.

i use my pinky fingers on the glass for support. if you back away your elbows on you knees work well too. also always make sure to use both hands and press the button slowly. well... that's what works for me. good luck.

If you have it... MANUAL FOCUS!!!

Especially on a scratched tank; the autofocus will click in on the scratches since they're closer.

Manual focus on the coral and you will be surprised how much that and a steady hand (Better yet; a tripod) will help.

If the camera fires it's flash; the shutter speed is faster; thus less blur but more washed out colors.

No flash makes for better colors; but more blur.

when i have the macro setting on it doesnt let me manual zoom. I press the button down half way and it auto zooms and makes a beep and has a red rectangle when it reconizes that what im looking at is in focus. So i have to bring the camera away from the glass to get it in good focus. If i manually zoom it it doesnt get as close as I want it.

yah the blues in the MH come out WAAaaay too much in my digi pics too, I have to use my photo program to adujst the colors. I usually try to get a piece of liverock in my photo to use as a control. You can always crop it out after you adjust the color.
