Are there any people here into imports?

I might get a 240sx (S14) pretty soon and I was thinking of getting an engine swap, like an SR20DET, or an RB25DET, but the prices are so friggen high, specially for labor, was just wondering if anyone here knew of any good deals around here. This is gonna be a project anyway, im gonna buy the car, and then start saving for the engine.:D

lol I have my 120g just sitting there without water cause I decided to start a project car. But since im poor, it's gonna take me a couple years.LMAO

If it wasn't for the labor I could have it ready like in 6 months.:(
I know one dude that MIGHT be able to do it, but I want it to be done good, specially if I get the RB25 since it's a PITA to swap.

Hopefully one day I'll set up my tank..

tricked out Nissans.....

Have not been doing performance cars in a while, but take you back a bit:

http://www.tigersunited.com/default.asp

A two seater british sports car, with a small block V-8 under the hood. Tricked out to a large block 8 (402) torch out the firewalls, and the wheeel wells, to get it in. Add 12 inch wide slicks and put it on the dragstrip.

Yeah they're imported from japan, what I meant was did he buy it from a shop around here tha sells them, or are you saying that he ordered it himself from japan?
JUst asking cause im trying to find good deals.

Do you know if he does it for other people? :D If so, how much would he charge me?

Before it was 350hp, so now it's more? Nice.

I was going to pick up a 2.0 twin turbo with trans. for my Datsun 510... ahh forget it thats a long story. Anyways they are located in Logan By Chicano Park. Or if you got a truck and am willing to drive to LA. I can get you a second number later. LMK

Here's my friends Turbo SR20DET with V mounted radiator and intercooler. think of it like this:
/ IC on top like this
\ Radiator on the bottom like this
He does alot of his own wrenching and has no problem putting a car together from the engine, to the wiring, to the emblems.

alex4angela, thanks for getting me the number, I'll give them a call, still have to get some $$$ anyway. BTW, is it cheaper in LA? Is it worth the drive?

brynboy, I can't afford that, and im in love with the S14 jeje.

for the people that have friends that can swap sr20's or something like an rb25, please ask them how much they would charge me for something like this.:D

how much hp does that skyline have? I like how the set up looks.

loose-electron, that's more like a muscle car isn't it?(I don't really know about V8's lol)

small british sports car - with lots of muscle, although that term tends to be used for american V8's - with 12 inch wide rubber on the back it would still break loose in the bottom 3 gears without even pushing it hard.

I can ask my friend. That is the 3rd nissan is has worked on. He likes to keep it sleeper. I think he got the motor from someone on the sr20 forums.

What's up people!

I ended up getting an S13 1990(240sx), It is automatic and I want to do a 5 speed conversion, I decided to get the KA24 engine, which is the one that already comes with a 240sx, cause of the sr20 not beeing legal, etc.lol

So im looking for a place where they do this, I need the engine, 5 speed tranny, 5 speed components all installed.

I've gotten several price quotes, and since I just got the money to do this today, im seriously gonna starts looking, but yeah, if anyone can get all the parts(or know someone), and do a clean job, for a good price, please let me know

alex4angela, do you know if oriental engines do this? Im gonna call them tommorow..

Thanks

"muscle cars" are American made; usually between 1965ish-1971ish.
