Here are two picture of the system, after changing the bulb, setting up the sump, by using a RubberMaid tub,and cutting down the PVC pipe for the two drain on each side. I will later on cover with rock.

Hey I would hang that light up. Those two pipes I would remove all together. The reason is rock can become unstable sometimes if that happens you stand the potential of snapping the pvc which would lead to that tank draining out on the floor. I would cap all of those and drill new bulkheads on the the back corners. AW will drill acrylic for $5 a hole or you could just buy your own bit that way you could setup a sick closed loop.

Also I would look at www.garf.org it has a article on how to DIY rock, which can then be seeded with some liverock. After a few months you wont be able to tell its Aragocrete because it'll have patches of coralline growing.

How big is that tank? That seems like it will be a cash cow to stock, maybe you should get a 29 gallon run that 250 watt MH over it (which would rock) you could just buy good quality liverock. That would give you an awesome start. You could sell that huge tank to Brahm whos always in the market for a big tank.

Hey Jason,

No, those pipes are the drains, they have caps right now, but will be adding strainners. The over flow is build-in, in the middle of the tank. The two PVC have ball valves at the bottom of the tank. The green littermaid is the sump i am using. I will be building rock aroung the PVC to hide them from the view.

Thank you. Picasso will have planty of room to swim in, with his new roommate the lunar.

Hugo;)

so the ball valve will control how much water can drain out, and you will then try and balence it with the pump?

The drain pipe are there, if i have to drain the tank. As if i have to do a water change. The rubber-maid ,the green thing in the center of the tank. That is my sump. The PVC pipe are close off.;)
