Does anyone have any suggestions on accomodations on Oahu? My SO wants to try vacation rentals in Kailua, but I've always stayed at hotels before so I'm not what's good and also what to expect?

I would stay in a vacation rental over a hotel anyday. Vacation rentals normally come with eveything you have in your house, with a hotel you get a bed and a bathroom. My family owns 5 vacation rentals here in SD and everyone who comes loves it. Also look at the website where you trade your house and go to the other for a week or so I forgot te site as of now.
Have fun!

If you want a Super romantic isolated, but somewhat pricey hotel, don't miss the Turtle Bay Resort. I am with Dan, vacation rentals are cheaper, and all of the comforts of home.... but I like room service. Anything less than that is camping.

I guess I'm just afraid that the vacation rental will turn out different than the descriptions when I get there ... and it seems that most of the decent vacation rentals are $200+ per night. I was hoping that I can use Priceline to get 5* hotels for significantly less ...

I've been to Turtle Bay. Can you say $$$$$$. But if you have it to spend then spend away. It will definately be worth it.
