Yosemite trip

Going to Yosemite for a week or so in late october, any recommendations on places to stay?
Things to do? (my lady will be in a conference 6 hours aday)

I've only done camping type stuff there, but the Yosemite lodge is supposed to be really nice. Amazing hikes and gorgeous views all around you...head off in any directions and you will be in awe. The top of Yosemite Falls was one of my favorites...did it in February with snow all around, but well worth it at the top! Didn't have time to do Half Dome, but that is supposed to be nice too.

yup, if you like hiking and end up at nice falls, spend a day hike to Vernal falls and then Nevada falls, then half dome (will need full 14hrs if you plan for Half Dome)
