An AT&T sales rep visited my house today offering some fiber optic package internet, HD DVR, and telephone for $89/ month. Sounds good, but not too sure if I want to switch over. Anyone have AT&T service with this package or is in the process of getting one?

Sounds a lot better than how University Cable bones me for $54 a month for basic, non-digital cable.
I think I'll be getting it if I can.. (edit; screwed again...not available for me)

not sure about all the details. I was tired coming home from work yesterday when the sales guy was talking to my GF at the door. I told him to come back today and I'll give him a definite answer, but I wanted to look it up and do some research before making the switch.

Is it fiber to the house, or just fiber to the telco point and regular cable to your house?
If it's the latter, you may not see _that_ much improvement. Also check to make sure about guaranteed speeds and/or download/upload caps.

Think it's DSL...the best you can get is 6mbps.
You can get their basic 200 channel package and the best DSL for like $75 a month.
Looked like a good deal to me, didn't lock you into a contract either.

Right now I have directv and TWC roadrunner. AT&T U-verse has a premium package with 300 channels including dsl i believe and it is priced at $119. Not bad, I think I'll bite. Anyone else interested check out AT&T uverse. Just search it I'm lazy.
