I have a small 20 gallon freshwater tank set up at my office, and my plecostamus is getting way to big, so i decide to donate him to a fish store and get a smaller one. so petco is 30 seconds away so i decide to go there. i start talking with the fish guy there who showed me a long tentacle anemone (clearly not a lta). then he told me i should keep my specific gravity at 1.18. then i told him i dont want to kill my corals, to which he replied 'your live rock will be fine'. then i said im not worried about my LR im worried about my corals. then he preceeds to tell me that live rock is a coral. then i left. nice guy though.

I've had similar issues with petco. I just don't go anymore.

It is sad. But if you make any attempt at all to educate them, they completely resent it and get defensive. Really wierd. If I don't know something, I don't pretend to know it. BSing only hurts coral and fish, why won't these people listen? I've given serious thought to writing a letter to the corporate office because the serious death rates of livestock is sooooo sad. You'd think animal rights terrorists would be all over it. Heh heh heh...

I like doing that to stereo salesmen. Most of them are complete idiots telling customers whatever the store wants them to. At least a bad stereo store isn't killing innocent livestock.
