All I have to say is that this is an outstanding site! I was talking to a large aquatic store owner yesterday, and I told him to log on sdreefs without hesitation. We started talking about RC (which I do not log onto) and he said he was embarrassed of that site. Most all the people here on sdreefs R great! Sometimes emergencies come up and some flake, but I feel that this site is 1000% better than most all out their. Thanks all! And I just met two other great people from southbay! KT-150 and ONAD75. I feel for every bad person on sdreefs we have at least 15 good ones! I hope everyones experience has been as positive as mine!

LOVE THIS PLACE! :D
So far I've only met great people. There's always some drama on a message board, but it's minimal here. Thanks SDReefs

Group Hugs!:) :D

Its great when people from all walks of life can come together under one common bond... We are very fortunate that we have SDreefs to help each other. If it wasent for the people on this site, I may of quit reefing along time ago.

It's a shame some people have such a negative view of RC. I've been there a while now, and find it an invaluable source of information. Sifting through the know-it-alls and idiots there is no different than here (just takes longer :) )

Also, don't confuse know-it-alls with people that REALLY know a lot of stuff....there are people on there with knowledge in physics, fluid mechanics, chemistry, coral husbandry etc. etc. that can run rings around me or anyone else here. You'll be hard pressed to find such a collection of knowledge on a local board.

Yeah, I was talking about the idiots that think they know-it-all. I have a lot of respect for the marine biologist's as that is what I want to do when i get older and go to college. As of now im just trying to get some good advice and even better, deals on coral.

I dont really think I have a negative view it is just my opinion. If people did not have opinions the worlds reefs would be destroyed. It just takes one resistant to make the world a better place. And that is coming straight out of a 14 year olds mouth.:D

Hey guys! Thanks for the kind words about the site... sometimes it's frustrating to maintain it because most of what I hear are the people complaining these days.

This thread reminded me of what the site used to be like when it was smaller.... and gives me hope to keep it going.

Again... THANKS!

Is that the ever elusive Moore I've heard about?
The guy who started this site?
Right-on!
And thanks, this site is awsome!
I do frequent both SDREEFS and RC, and agree w/ SDguy that there is alot to be learned from both, and both have their place.
I love the local thing here, and enjoy seeing people's tanks in person, or them seeing mine and to see everyone's different approach to successful reef keeping.
But I do find it hard to ignore the vast knowledge of the worlwide community on RC.
As stated, it's just a matter of sorting out the BS.
I do feel reefers here are friendlier(probably because we will most likely meet face to face at some point!)
We all share a common love for the ocean/reefing, and I respect that greatly, even if we do disagree/clash sometimes.

Group hug from here too. Thanks to all...... without SDREEFS my tank would not be nearly where it is..... or as wonderful.
