Can anybody tell me if this is fixable? somebody ripped out the microphone wire in my headset. I like this headset a lot so I was just wondering if this kind of damage can be fixed. Thanks!

this can be fixed but it will be hard and the quality wont be the same. I would just buy a new one. Maybe someone else may have a different opinion.

its fixable, but cosmetically it wont be the same. I would have to cut into the housing to expose the wires so I could solder to it. What kind of headset is it? How much for a new one?

it doesnt have to be cosmetically the same, I just wish it would work again. This is not a very expensive headphone, I think it was around 30 to 40 bucks,I just have this for a long time, and are used to it. I actually took the wrong picture, the wire actually were ripped out from this port.

I'm good with electric wires...
I burned out a $3500 switcher when I was rerouting some cables...
I was working with DC, but I forgot and went by the AC rules (cause I was working on my boat before that), and went black neutral when it should've been black hot...

M MMMM smell that cross polarization!

Cut the molded assembly off so you got a handful of bare wires, rewire and solder the wires together with a selective use of heat shrink tubing to hold it all together. Double back the wire assembly (fold over) for mechanical strength and put the whole thing inside another peice of heatshrink.

Can be done but its a lot of aggravation. Best bet - buy a new one.

if it's a single wire inside each case, I can solder it for you. I got some shrink tubing as well.
