I mod'd mine and really like the new performance. Used a hacksaw and a rattail file for the whole conversion. 1" in and 3/4" outs. My pcx-40 can finally breath and my fish love the alternating current, too.
But the best part, it's on the outside of my tank, and doesn't have a power cord attached to it. :D

If I wanted to achieve more flow in my tank, without adding an extra powerhead would this be my answer? I'm interested even though I have no idea how it works...I just know I need more flow :D.

a scwd will usually reduce flow, its used mainly to alternate current.

the squid that i'm selling is stock and it will reduce to flow by 20% but with the modified version its acctually have less that 5% lost and very effective
