what clam is a good starter clam... and how much maintenance do they need? feeding how often and what?

any one know where to buy a 48" reflector i can make one but id rather buy one or ill just polish aluminum and bend it.

You can get a Derasa clam and keep them under high wattage PC's. I had one under 135W PC in a 10 gallon and he was loving life. Also you want to get a 4" or bigger, they are easier to take care of and are much hardy. I don't suggest any other clam because they require intense light (MH).

Ya go talk to Barry.

Guess you guys for got Hippopus. It has a very unique shape in my opinion. Might not have those crazy colors, but it is very neat. Plus I believe I heard it absorb nitrate or something(more than other clams) and it don't require lots of light.

aren't they super pricey. or is that gigas.

Hippopus are the least expensive as they dont have a large flashy mantel that extends.

2x250mh i was hoping to get a clam i dont have to spot feed because its a *****...

Barry's price are pretty good..don't fergot there are diffrent grades of croceas as far as quality/colour..so you get what you pay for.

After seeing different calms at the local LFS' and then seeing what Barry has in person there is no comparison........beautiful animals.
