My bro sent them to me. One of his friends in Tennessee catches them. What they do is wear a glove, reach into a hole, grab the catfish by the mouth and pull them out of the hole. They take pictures then just release them.

That site is for cats that are caught by rod and reel, these are caught by hand :)

There are two things that appear to be "fishy" about these "noodlers":

1. These fish on the pictures are too big, probably around or some well over 100-150 pounds. Large catfish are extremely powerful; such big ones cannot be wrestled down by bare hand. Any serious catfish angler will attest to it.

2. There is no reliable evidence that these huge ones were caught noodling. The only way I can believe these noodling stories is if I am shown a creditable video about the fight under water and the ensuing struggle until the fish is dragged to the shore.

Where I grew up in Southern Georgia people used to sink large hollow logs in the eddies of the rivers, then early in the the moring they would swim down plug the ends and use a winch to bring them up. They would catch 100-125 catfish all the time.
I never saw them do it but I saw them when they brought them in.
