Does anyone use these? This will stop (at least reduce) algae problems. It doesn't replace the need for a protein skimmer though, correct?

I know they are more geared for ponds, but I have heard of them on salties. Thats a point though, about it killing beneficial things too. Any organism dumb enough to go in there deserves to die! Im kidding, but what in the water column is necesary that would be killed by this device?

certain bacteria cant survive under the UV light's intensity that are beneficial to a reef. The main use for UVs in salt is for aggressive tanks. It helps to kill disease.
