I usally call it my tidepool tank, top of tank is 32" off ground

40~g with 2 seperated sections, 1 is my DSB miracle mud fuge, with tons of macro, and a sexy dancer shrimp, other is my filtration/rubble/ hospital section. I keep my rubble for frags, skimmer, heater, injured fish, and 1 return pump in the filter side. the tank is very yellow, due to the 6700k bulb I have been running (never again) Tank started as an experiment after reading Fenners "Marine Invert" book, been running over a year now, and I know I need more LR and more corals:P

I think the next step for this tank is swapping the 196w PC fixture for a 4-6 bulb t5 fixture

a canopy would look wierd on such a short tank, so complete fixture is only real option, atleast in my old apartment

you should be fine with a 2 tub 5t HO fixture, as long as it has individual reflectors.

do the tek fixtures have individual?
was thinking 4, so I can use acouple actinics for a good color mix, a mid-day, and a 10k
like I said "in the future" a distant one:)

That's sweet! The tank is so unique having the seperated areas on each end, very cool, I like it!

Did you have it custom ordered that way?

Tank looks very nice. You'll love the T5's if/when you get them.

yeap, tek fixtures comes with individual reflectors. You can get 4, but your tank too shallow so you softies might now like the huge amount of light. That's like a running 250W HQI above your tank with the 4 bulb setup.

I like what you've done with it. I have always thought that tank would make a good reef tank because of its size.

My boss made it for keeping feeder fish, the sections on either side were filled with mini bio-balls, and have 2-piece trickle plates that I can drop on some thin acrylic rails, incase I want to put some prefilter floss on there for water polishing

Like I said, it was an experiment

Brian, you might remember missy and I argueing over it back when Wcai closed
Har, I win:P
