Nice setup Andrew... i like the two islands. I should have done that since that brace blocks out the center. Looks good bro!

I would add a fuge to help out with teh algea problem. If you can't work one into your design, then a Phosban Reactor.

Looks good though....

Hey I am new at this, but I noticed you didn't have any snails...at least visable. I've only been told over and over that if you have an algae problem, add about 50 snails and you won't have an algae problem next week. :) then sell the extra snails. Nice set up though....makes me think of doing two islands.... I like that.

I have about 30 snails and 20 hermits. It's just kinda hard to get them to do wat u want. Ideally, the snails would clean the glass and the crabs the rocks and sand. It just never works out that way though.

Man i love that tank it looks like it is a volcanic reef and the clowns adapted to the sand color to camoflauge! Awesome! It is almost exactly what happens in nature except you cant buy a black clown. Was that your plan from the beginning to demonstrate the evolution of species? Cool tank!

thanx, i didn't plan on the clowns getting darker. when i got them they had bright yellow faces and they've darkened over a few months.

it's about 12" when fully opened, it doesn't fully open much though. i don't think it likes my seio 620's.

Well it's a really nice setup.. Does it move around alot or does it stay in one place??

FlipCyd
05-09-2007, 10:40 PM
it hasn't moved at all since i put it in the tank, i think the clowns are helping with keeping it still.

Awesome! Your tank was the inspiration for me redoing my rockscape a few weeks ago. Your tank looks great. So clean and symetrical. Even the powerheads are mirrored. oooooo the itch to go bigger.....I feel it creeping inside.

that itch only gets worse. i've gone through a progression of bow front tanks myself. 26g bow-->46g bow-->72g bow(soon to be set up)

dude, drew i cut the brace to see it bow out 1/2"!!! I guess it was for support. Right now I have rigged it with a ghetto wooden brace that is holding up well. I might just have to buy Yolo's corner tank to make me feel better.

FlipCyd
05-23-2007, 01:24 PM
damn that sucks, are you gonna swap out the wood w/ a piece of acrylic? don't worry bro, my 72 will be running and i'll hook you up w/ my 46.

05-23-2007, 03:07 PM
its cool. what sucked was I was trying to leave for LA that night and ended up 1 hour behind schedule. I think I just may brace it with a clear acrylic piece. Yolo gave me a good game plan. I'll let you know how it goes. Can't wait to see your 72 bro!

FlipCyd

i would have jumped all over that 175g bow if i have the room for it in my house. until i move into a bigger house the 72g bow is the biggest i can get.
