Below is my first saltwater tank. It's a 10 gallon cube (12*12*16). How I am doing? Is there anything that should be doing different? It's 90 days old and doing well.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks
Steve

All water tests are great. The tank has a Rio Nano Protein Skimmer, 15 gpm powerhead and a 15 watt heater. Not much more due to its size.

Thanks to Fragcity and Direct Marine Imports for the great corals.

I'd say you've about made the most you can w/ a 10g!
Looks real good.

Might want to only have one fighting conch in a tank that size. Other than that, looking good!

With those conchs I am sure your sand is gonna stay very clean. The two I have in my 135g do a bang up job.

Very nice diversity of corals. That green bubble is especially pretty...

Fine job on your first tank, looks very good, especially knowing its only a 10gallon.

Also curious what lighting you are running.

Beautiful nano. Watch out when stuff starts to send out the tenticles. The bubble coral has a nasty sting, the frogspan may sting the gorg. and the GSP may bother anything it touches. My experience has been that nothing can touch anything else unless it's the same species, but I do see tanks crammed with corals and can't figure out why they look so good.

Im surprised the clowns aren't destroying eachother in a 10g.

Looks awesome.

Good luck with that rio skimmer, It did nothing for me. :(

Lighting is 12" Coralight Aqualight with 2 -18 watt fluorescent lamps.

The conchs were a recommendation from AW. All the equipment came from AW. I wish I did better research before going to AW. Probably would have done things a lot different. Yes, they saw me coming and emptied my wallet.

I have tried to keep all the stinging corals far away from each other. Although I do know that I will need to do something in the near future ... upgrading to a 30 gallon with better equipment.

Tank looks nicely stocked. Don't worry about your little AW experience. I'm sure many on here have gotten suckered out of cash from AW before finding other avenues. Heck, I still feel like a sucker every time I walk out of that place. At least the 10gal can be used as a sump or quarantine when you upgrade.

If you want to downsize your conch collection, let me know. I'm local and my tank could use a little extra cleaning.

just don't forget the water changes and keep your eye on the thermometer as small tanks can be tough.

I usually do water changes every 2 to 3 days (about 1 -2 gallons) using Scripps water. Temp is usually 77 -78. It's been pretty stable for me.

Converting to Scripps really helped.

hehe... wow... your hard core... usually weekly changes of about 2 gallon should suffice. :) Good start...
