75Gallon upgrade!

here it is i just switched over yesterday with the help of josh from vetspets (aka deucejt). it is awesome and the sump is really simple.

So it has a 30 gallon sump, little giant return, starfire glass for the show and an HOB fuge. i transfered all of my livestock and it came with some LR so i am full of rock. the tank is 48 by 18 by 18. i have a little room for a clam bed so im happy with that.

The fuge is still working good. except for that the pump sucked my sea hare and almost killed everything! but i got home and pulled him off and the frickin thing leaked all of that purple poison so i did a huge waterchange and nothing has died since. other than that it has produced alot of copepods and braught the nitrates down.

Can you enclose that pump in something that blocks the intake?
Too bad you're not closer or I'd check.
Maybe eggcrate or acrylic?
I have an old coralife bubble diffuser that might work.

No i dont have anything like that it was just a mistake by me. i dont have any thing else that could crawl up there now anyways, but the sucky thing is now i have to have a blue tang that cleans up my hair algae.

well... just in case you decide to get another one... hehe (you know you might :P) Have a turkey blaster ready and get someone to help suck the posion if it leaks that way not as much goes into the tank... must have a lot of headaches man. I used to have an anemone that did that... :( Gl with the rebuilding. Thats the fun part afterall right? :)

Yeah luckily it was on an HOB fuge powerhead so i turned off the powerhead and just siphoned the water out of that. That is definately the best part, fixing everything you screw up!

I dont know if i have good insulation in my house or there is something wrong with my heaters but my tank is 78 degrees my house is 80 and it is 90 in lakeside. I do not run a chiller and my hood is kinda open.

Yeah they are changing colors under my 10ks! the blueberry has a kind of greenish blue base to it and the sameonosis is more of a purple/maroon!
I really like the colors of them! I forget the names of the orangish ones with green polyps, but everything i have gotten from you has had great polyp extension and great color!

It was an upgrad so i had to move this one where my old one was so we just switched it over real fast... Only lost one acro. It worked out pretty well.

My next one is going to be twice as big as yours though!!!!:)

I just have a real simple setup... It has a euro reef protein skimmer a little gian return and some old powerheads that I need to upgrade (I would have boughten those tunzes, but NO!!!:D) And 2 10k 250 watt HQI's with 2 96 watt PC's (i have more light than you!!!;))

Ahhh yes more light young one...but more PAR maybe not...8 T5's are the equiv. of 8 94w lights. I think. At least that is what Rollinghead told me this weekend. And I had to get those Tunzes, I had them in my online shopping cart on another browser the very minute I saw them posted. It was just meant to be.

It is $5000 for the complete setup and is 130 gallons of pure itallian glassage! It is not eurobraced and is not braced at all! I will have you beat then!

In the mean time i ave to find out how to make 5000 dollars... We have a lot of palm trees outside... does anyone want to buy some palm trees?

Oh i forgot to take a picture of your digi slash unkown coral but it is still doing great! I lost that other SPS that i traded you for the gorg, it died from the heat on the car ride home we had to stop at priceclub... But the mangrove is growing like crazy it has four leaves now, And i really like your zoos, they are starting to spread like crazy!

I bet those will color up after they get settled in their new homes. From what I understand where it's positioned can make quite a difference in it's final coloration too, so you may have to experiment a little to find that perfect spot where it gets the best color.

From that order, my little baby acan head (there's actually 4) was happily eating mysis today :D I imagine we won't know anything about the missing frag until the work week :rolleyes:

That is a Purple Haze monti. Like all encrusting montis it requires lots of light. I do not have any frags ready yet. But i will definately keep you posted.

I do, about 1 to 2 times a week i inject them with vinegar with a syringe, it just does not work too well:D
