150 watt sun pod HQI ...it seems to do the trick. The clams are growing well. I will take some pics today. That one is a bit out of date.

Wow, very impressive tank. I love how your clams are spread arround. Very nice looking tank.

What equipment are you running? It looks like I see a prism skimmer on the left along with a small rio...

Thanks for the compliment. It is my first attempt at a reef tank and so far it is doing pretty good. I am currently wading my way through several thick books about reefs and corals. I don't know the names of most of the stuff but I have about 45 pieces of coral, not counting the individual polyps on some of the rocks, 3 very small fish, 2 peppermints, 1 cleaner, 1 fire shrimp, a pair of golden coral banded that only prowl at night and 4 crabs that are hosted by certain corals where they live. So far the mandarin dragon is even staying alive thanks in part to the high production of the refugium I think. I am currently running cpr brand refugium, and a remora skimmer plus a aqua clear 50 hang on side type that I run charcoal and a poly pad. I also have a plenum under the sand layer and about 30lbs of very nice live rock......Naturally it is worth a small fortune. At least that is what it cost.....lol

Set the cam to macro, and turn off the flash. No other lights on in the room except for the tank lights. Give that a shot.

I will try all of these things when I get the time. The tank looks great in real life as you probably realize. The clams close uo when the flash goes off and so do the zoos.....it's wierd.

Photoshop Elements has a lot of good tools for re-sizing and fixing photos. It's not too expensive either. NBot like full blown Photoshop.

I have had that plate about 2 months and it's color is better than ever. It's doing very well indeed. The Clam on the left about half way up is arttached to a piece of rock. I placed him on it about 3 months ago and he attached to it right away. He has been happy as a clam ever since.
