i saw these two products at custom aquatics and since there pretty much the same price im not sure which would be better. i have never used anything more accurate than a hydometer so either one is gonna be a big jump in quality, but if there is a difference i would prefer to go with the better product..
here is a link to the page they are listed on.

Good question. I wonder how important "ATC" is?

I'm interested as well. I have been looking at buying one of these.

check Ebay i got my refractometer there for about 35 ish with ATC

ATC is fairly important IMHO without it you will have to check a chart to get the correct salinity/temp

not sure how often you will have to cal the digital one either.

So ATC looks to be a useful feature then. That's a good thing.

To me it would be between the bottom two. They both have ATC and the only thing you have to decide is wether or not to go lighted(which, if the only difference will cost you $55). Id probably go with the second one from the bottom and I second searching ebay for it. I'm sure you'll find it there cheaper.

I got my refractometer from diyreef.com and it works great. Its very easy to use, its unlit but I've never had problems reading it. It was the cheapest I found, but I didn't check ebay.

lighted ones are a waste IMHO
thats only usefull if you dont have a light source near by.
or you are testing at night when all the lights are off.

If you really want to go out there...

Why not get a salinity controller - adds RO/DI when salinity gets too high, never be concerned about flooding your tank with RO water.

Just a thought.

I would assume that's right around the same in terms of cost too:p Yeah right!

http://www.aquadirect.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=263 ---- $329.

http://www.neptunesys.com/aquaControllerPro.htm -- Aquacontroller Pro --- $600 +

Actually, pinpoint has a salinity monitor for about $114.

This link will take you to a $35 refrac from Drs F and S that I have. It does have ATC as well. It doesn't work currently bc RC is down bc of the storm.
