Hello everyone, Im back after a little break.. Im setting up a 90g sea clear i got from Encinitas tropical fish.. Im really excited about it..:D

Tank is 48x18x24 with a center overflow with a blue back..So far I have a Euro-Reef RS-135 Protein Skimmer and 1 250w PFO HQI Mini Pendant.. Also i got a Little Giant - 4-MDQ-SC Inline Pump from a friend..

The stand i just built last weekend and this weekend i hope to build the canopy..

Here are some pics of tank and stand..

Roger - nice work! A word of advice, run a bead of silicone all around the inside seams and seal the entire bottom with polyurethane or varnish, resin, etc. so that when you have a spill inside, and believe me you eventually will, it sill be contained to the stand without causing damage. Even better yet would be to build a 2" high pan from plastic as a secondary containment tank. Thats a sweet looking setup, can't wait to see how it turns out.

i might suggest, cutting a larger hole in the stand for your bulkhead, once you have pipe glued in, it's hard to get some grips on a bulkhead to realign (sometimes they move) other than that, I love the stand with the side access too!

simple is best.. for me :D

Next I have to mount the lights and tape the inside of the canopy with reflective heat tape...;)

Then i should be ready for saltwater and maybe some rock...
Thanks for all the encouragement, Roger:o

Close loop it. It looks too clean to have a power head in there.

Yes a ballvalve will go on... I have my tank set up soo the water can never drain past the overflow box..It should never drain more than my sump can handle.. I will still install a ballvalve and a oneway valve..

I should never say "never" .. lol :D

Thanks Roger

exactly, it happens all the time at work
it's mainly for when you pump sucks in a critter and jams, or a thermometer, or rubble ect.
much easier to work on pump that way

Before you start adding fish you need to put the fish gaurd on the powerhead or else you'll have sushi!
