Cool Touch Dual 175 MH Ballast

48 in x 12in DIY Light/reflector holder (see pic)

2 10,000k aqualine bulbs - one works great but the other doesn't turn on till after 3 hours or so, which was longer than I ran my lights. they were bought at the same time, so I don't know what the deal is with the one bulb.

New price: $175

I also have a 4ft long blue flourescent light (which is also in the picture) Make an offer on that.

Dude, you should probably take it out of that ugly hood and sell as individual systems. you would get a better response.

What do you mean sell as individaul systems? I am selling the lights seperately. Do you mean sell the ballast, bulbs, and hood seperately?

No. He means take the lighting system out of the hood. The hood is not asthetically pleasing so he is suggesting that if you removed everything you would get a better response. At least, I think that's what he means :)

Like the reflectors and crap.
The minute I do that then someone is going to come along and ask about the hood.

OK, maybe using hood is the wrong term. Isn't the hood usually something that covers the tank. This thing just holds the lights and reflectors.

what their trying to say is, pull everything out of that beat up ugly ass aluminum piece of junk and then post a pic of what you end up with. No one wants to hang that gotty ugly thing above their tank but you:p so you'll have allot more success selling everything as a kit, less the tuna boat everything is mounted in.

Think of it as easy to carry packaging.

I agree the hood is not very nice looking. It looks like a heating light in buffet line. Maybe you can paint it with something like this.............

DUMP THE HOOD and get some real reflectors.. it should help sell quicker.

And the fact that one bulb doesn't start up until 3 hours later doesn't help either..

Just being honest with the bulb. Maybe it is just an unclean connection with the bulb. Thought somebody more experienced would recognize the problem.

There is a reflector in the hood. If any potential buyer wants to dump the hood, more power to them. I never thought it looked that bad, of course it doesn't look as nice as other peoples set ups. But it was effective and did the job.

You should consider selling the hood as a troff for cattle to eat from:p

Haha... just what I like to hear following two "Let's flame Brahm!" posts. Much better than a "Hey guys, be nice."

[EDIT: For the record, brahm is actually quite swell.]

For a DIY, its not too bad, but it COULD use a paintjob.

Its not his fault that he lives in San Diego. There are just not enough cattle ranchers in San Diego.:D

Is there there place called TXreefs.com (Texas Reefs)?

I agree, all it needs is a paint job. I did shuggest that earlier in this thread. High heat paint from home depot for about $8.
