So I did this for a person who is out of town and has not even seen it yet.
He asked for a "Tiki Hut" style so thats what I built him.

I was able to go from empty to full on the inside real fast because of the help of ilikeyoualot and all the inhabitants of his tank that he was forced to reluctantly part with.

After setting it up, I think I like the inside better than mine.

What do you think?

That's hilarious!

my thoughts too. I love the tank but I still like my stand/canopy better. More traditional, classier than the tiki hut look but that is what he asked for!

I'll try to get few better pix with the lights off for better tank clarity.

Nice work, but I would have gone with a stained or darker bamboo.

Nice work, but I would have gone with a stained or darker bamboo.

You should see their house, very classy, elegant etc etc. I would have put a beautiful stained, finished cabinet under the tank that better suited their home but that is what he wanted, so that is what I made!

looks awesome......did you build the tank into the wall or was it already there and you framed it and made a new canopy for it......

the wall was already like that, it had a big planter box in there. We ripped out the planter box, framed the corner window hole, put in a bunch of new electrical wiring, waterproofed the bottom and made an opening in the lower left back of the area to access the closet in the adjoining bedroom. That is where the ballast are so no heat from them bother the tank.

The tank was custom to fit the size of the space and the overflow box is in the middle and rear of the tank so it is not seen at all.
