12g Nano and diy sump/fuge

Hey guys.....i got a 12g hex nano while i wait for $$$ for my big tank. I still had some corals form my 72g that i thru in here.

The only problem i had was it had no filtration at all, the only thing i had in there was a powerhead.....so i had to act fast....here is what i did.

i got a used hob aquafuge from lsvtec...thx man !!! i took it apart and attached it to my tank

i had a small leak, but vinny helped me out...u da man vin !!

pre and post pics...even tho it seems more cluttered in the tank...i added about 4 more gallons of water volume and will be able to put the heater, carbon, sand and cheato in the back. as soon as i find a small enough light for it.

I love the idea of the modded HOB fuge addition. It looks cool and is probably a phenominal refugium - tank ratio. Now I may have to go out and get a nano so I can do something similar.

I would do a laryer of mud and the sand over the mud about 1" of each
