a coworker just asked me what would happen if you plug a computer into another one via usb cable are they each plug and pray does it work like the old pc anywhere ??? any comp people here???

it would say, storage drive detected.. you can view the other computers HD and write to it

buy a tivo. I can record anything on my tivo to my computer.

I don't think that Cox supports the USB. They also don't support HDMI or DVI which is a shame. The cheapest way to get the stuff off your DVR is with a Slingbox. $125 and no TIVO subscription. It connects via ethernet or internet. CompUSA has them. The Scientific Atlanta website might say something about it as well.

This is the HD box that Cox uses currently. I don't know about Time Warner. Good luck.

If you plug a standard USB cable two different computer, you will fry the motherboard on one or both computers. You need a USB cross over cable to transfer data from one machine to another. You do not want to feed voltage on a pin where data should be.

They probably are. But I would like to be certain before I connect two active devices.
