How do you guys that have setups in garages keep the electrical bills at bay? I can't imagine keeping a tank warm enough...

#1 - Yup, the electrical bill is a bit higher for a tank in the garage than for a tank in the house.

#2 - Tank stays warm enough. Only ~800w of heaters in there and it stays 82/83 degrees like I set it. There's not a lot of cold wind going through the garage or anything, and the hood + stand take care of keeping a little bit of heat IN the tank. Last year when I had a pond liner sump sitting directly on the slab.... omg that was pretty rough.

I have a spare 100g in the garage that sits empty. Would be interesting to try a frag tank. On the other hand, I saw the thread last summer about an outdoor/natural light sps tank - which I could also do...choices.

Natural sunlight tanks are for pansies. Real men use 1000w halides. :D

(that was me) I have everything planned out, however I decided to go off to college, so I have to postpone my outdoor-prop tank till after college, probably...

What camera (brand, DSLR or point and shoot) and flash did you use?

Canon Rebel XT / Kit lens / Canon 430something flash. Didn't use a tripod this time.

Looks great, Jess! Close up shot coming soon? I wonder what kind of sump you're using now since the last "ghetto style" you had :p .

Plain ole glass 60g with some baffles as a sump.

I'll try to start getting some close-up shots, but those tend to be tougher... :)

Looks great as always Jess. Did you always have that BTA on the left side as well? I remember the giant one on the right, but not that one. How's Butter and...the other one? Any eggs recently?

Butters and Pudge are doing great... laid eggs last week. Temp seems to be a key spawning cue. :)

I've had both anemones for most of this year... the giant one splits every so often, and we decided to keep one of the clones once. It was kinda hidden in the old tank though.

How's your tank been doing?
