I just use a 100 tooth carbide blade. Seems to work fine, no chipping. Go slow so you don't burn the acrylic.

i dont think that's going to work? you need a circular saw or a table saw..."round blade" or if your plastic is really thin, you can just buy a blade at Home depot and score it and once you score it for about 2-3 times just snap it...

Justin, you can use a jig saw and with a blade made for cutting plastic it will work fine. You wont get the quality you would wth a table saw but it's fine for just cutting pieces. If you plan to glue any of the edges to something after, you will need to sand em down a bit.

sirc saw or table saw, is good with fine teeth, jig saw tends to chip the acrylicdue to the up and down motion of the blade

I just cut this 3/8" piece with my Bosch 1581 jig saw using a T119BO blade. The quality of the cut is very good with no chipping and would require minor sanding only to remove all blade marks. Quality tools produce quality results. Still, a jigsaw should not be used to make long straight cuts.16711
