Well i had some people ask me about my lighting the other day. I am a huge light freak, i have lights on everything i own. So my tank is no exception.

My tank isnt quite to where i want it yet, but the lighting is. I basically converted two 30 inch Current USA sattelite fixtures, into retro's. I added 2 250 watt MH's (still missing reflectors), then i installed a single 30 watt standard flourescent 50/50 by zoo med ( to assist with my sunrise). To top it off i installed 2 street glow RGB LED 48 inch tubes W/controller. Now i can customize my LUNAR lighting with millions of different color options. Or when the ghetto music next door plays my tank can dance to the music. I also added 3 LED spot lights on my decor to give that Belagio look. Its super bright during the day at just under 1000 watts, and looks great at night. My sun rise/set takes approx 1.5 hours, its a 5 stage sun rise/set and uses 6 different timers to do so. Lots of calibration work. Now if i could just get the rest of the tank right.

The rest?

I run 3 fluval 405's, two 500GPH powerheads (split 4 ways), 300 watt heater, 4 ball bearing 600CFM fans in the canopy, 2 digital temp controllers (tank and canopy) O2 injection setup, 8 hour UPS back-up system, and lots of TLC. That about covers it.

i figured i would do something different with the decor, plus my budget hasnt allowed for more live rock yet. Gotta give the snails something to do. maybe a little algae challenge.
