I just got my boat fixed after an unfortunate accident with the local reef. Anyone up for a boat dive off the Pt. Loma Kelp Bed? We'll just split gas.

I know Rick is up for this. :)

You got that right! However surf is up and it may be awhile before the vis is worth the trip. Not sure how it is off the kelp beds though. I'll try to contact the local charter boats and ask them about it. Shore diving is out for a while though.

I have not put on my 6.5 mm suit for quite awhile. I have done most of my dives in exotic places like Palau, Guam, Saipan, Bali, Bora Bora, and 4 months ago in the Carribean.

Man...the thought of diving in a cold water sends cold chills through my spines.

Anyway, too bad I am a little busy now a days. Otherwise I would take you up on the ofter.

You'll need at least a 7mm wetsuit to dive in SD... unless you like freezing your arse off! :)

Rick, let me know when vis is good and we'll plan a trip. Might go diving for bugs this weekend if you're interested.

Danny the hose is available so you could try the dry suit so not to freeze the buns

Rick we'are coming out with a new line of semi-dry siut the test was very very good and much less than DUI or other leading dry siut and will not need any jump siut for liner last meeting the MSRP was $ 700 but no confirmation yet

How about a bonfire at Fiesta Island in about two weeks? I can't do anything this weekend because I'm going clubbing. :-D But next week it's on... I'll start making a little list.

For the dive, I'm assuming gas will be not more $20/person if we get 5 divers. If we want to do two dives, it'll probably be about $30/person... $10 will be for drinks and snacks.

WOW.. there's like 3 conversation in this thread... talk about thread jacking.. BTW.. anyone need a fish run soon? I know pblocal is looking to stock tons of stuff.

cool. Rick will be checking vis and conditions. Should be ready for the dive in a couple of weeks. (After the fish run and after the bon fire). :)

Went hooping and my one buddy free-dove Friday night for 40 bugs...only problem is that only 3 of them were legal. As many fish as you wanted to spear. Picked up a few huge perch, some 16 inch sculpin, etc. Not too bad of an evening. Lots of traffic. Lots of people out early to establish their position/space. Almost lost a hoop to a boat that drug it all over and then left it all fouled. They are out there! Just watch out for the Friday/Sat night crowd.
