looking good. what kind of starfish is that?

If you want the pif zoos to grow more polyps you need to give them room to grow up. If you put them on top of the rock, they creep down verry slow, if at all. HTH

Your rock work looks cool, the single zoo is pretty neat too.

I think that starfish is one of those sand sifting starfish you can pick up at BR or AW. I'm not positive though.

the green with orange center? Think that's called a kiwi zoa.

We've also got them at FH, just called "sand sifting starfish"...

SolRo - you've got some really sweet zoos!

the starfish will starve because the tank is too small to handle it... sorry to say... but yeah... itll last for a few months... i think with a sand shifting star you should have at least a 20g setup with two inch sand... I had one in my 10 gallon nano once... and it died after i think 6 months. :/

i feel he's correct too. it's been debated on nano reef a lot whether or not a sand shifting star could survive in a nano.

the majority agreed they can't, since they will eventually run out of food in a tank bed so small. most attempts (if not all), have ended with them dying.

i think it's best to either give it away to someone, or bring the little guy back.

this post is harsh, but it's for the little guy's best interest. the fish/inverts should come first.

If he starts looking thin I'll pass him on, my 2 conchs do a better job anyhow.

My pink hammer frag enjoying the LEDs

Along with the shrooms, my camera also hates the LEDs...either it overexposes and makes the tank look bright blue, or underexposes and makes it look dark purple....its a nice white light with a purpleish tint (to my eyes at least)

If you want more zoanthids to cover stuff, they seem to prefer growing up than down. Just a thought. Looks nice otherwise.

How is that coral beauty doing? How long have you had him... Tank might be kinda small once he starts growing. They like to swim alot and kind of need room. Just wondering.

He's new, doing well, I'll probably get a bigger tank before he gets too big...or ill trade him if I dont upgrade.

Also, there's lots of room behind the rockwork, my fish just came out because i fed them right before pic....firefish and angel are usualy swimming in the rocks.

originaly my tank had a sandbed, and a sand sifting starfish.

I was told it would starve in a tank as small as mine, so I gave it away. Then later removed all the sand from my tank.

Glad I'm not the only one.......I stared at the picture for 5 min. looking for the stinking starfish. Then read down lower and realized he changed his set uo to no sand and that the pic was updated... :)
Oh yeah.....Looks Good
