I took a little more than a ten year break from the hobby. I missed it more and more till I finally broke down and purchased a fish only tank (saltwater). Got my confidence back a bit read up on all the new stuff and ideas ( thanks to places like SDreefs) =) This is my first return to an atempt a reef in too many years.. So far so good. 15306

Looks great but looks like U need a little more coreline algae. How long has that tank been up and running?

Its been running for about two months. Does haveing only 72 watts make the coralline agea grow slower? Its one of those aqua pods so it only has two 36 watt pc's.The calcium is about 400 to 420 and ak about 8.3 dkh.I have a semi hard time keeping it right on useing Scripps water. Maybe Ill switch to AW and try that. Is it wrong to let it have some natural sunlight in the AM? Just a little? Everything seems to really like it.

Awesome setup!

Your zoos are crazy cool on that stem/branch whatever it is, it looks sweet.

If the alk and ca are dropping in between water changes, it's because the corals are using it, and aw's water won't help you. If it's dropping after a wc, it's because scripps is a little bit low, but that's covered in the scripps sticky.

Nice looking tank.
What size is your aqua pond?

Make shure your GSP won't take over the while tank.

Pics look nice. Good start, as for the sun, Natural lighting won't hurt a thing. It just tends to make algae grow faster!
