The scunci steamer is a good tool for physically removing aptasia.

i killed all of my aptasia in less than 30 minutes with it.

Yeah hopefully it didnt spread the aptasia all over your tank when you steamed them to death. IMO just dump the rock and take your losses when u see them. Cheaper in the long run.

Some of my rocks are priceless specimens that have mushrooms and feather dusters. Many of them have the algae turfs that have never been sold in LFS. They have been in aquariums for at least 15 years and are much different than what you can get from the wild.

This requires that you take the rock out of the tank - Not always possible unless you want to disturb the whole tank and redo your aquascaping.
