As with most marine fry/ larvae, it seems to be motion that stimulates the feeding resonse in baby seahorses. Therefore, depending on the species (size of fry) it takes live rotifers or artemia to get them going. I have had erectus take cyclops from day one but only a small percentage of them. As they age more and more will take it. I am experimanting right now with Coral Plankton (LL w/ rotifers) on some baby kuda, hard to say if they are taking it or not.
