Here are some new pictures of my 40G reef. I upgraded the lighting from a 250 to a 400w metal halide the other day. Now I need to upgrade to a bigger tank!

The coral in the last pic is a sinularia.

The tank has been set up in this location for 3 months, but its been set up a total of 2 yrs. We've moved the tank 4 times and changed the rock structure over 15. heh heh

Thanks guys! The light is an SPS 20K.

Lots of skimming, lots of light, and picking the right corals is what works for me. You can never have enough skimming or light.

Are you running the SPS 20k with a HQI ballast? The color looks quite nice! What kind of skimmer do you have on there?

It's a pfo metal halide ballast, not HQI. The skimmer is an excalibur. :D

Thanks for the compliments on my tank! I set up a 125g tank and I have been slowly adding corals from my 40g to the new tank. The corals seem to be loving the new tank so far! I'll post some pictures once everything has been transferred over.



DaChrisDude: It is a zoanthid polyp. Hopefully it'll grow some babies soon. :D

i have not been on here in a while, but i remember u saying that u were getting a bigger tank. have u go that one up and running now? curious as to how gorgeous the new tank looks compared to the photo here...

lol i upgraded to a 125 about 14 months ago. i have 3 huge frag racks so it doesn't look that attractive right now. :( must....get....frag....tank

Oh.:o Looks like you have a lot of nice stuff. Too bad you live so far I'd love to check them out sometime. I know how that is with the frags. We have a 800g frag system but our home tank still gets it's sand bed covered in frags. We just keep them while they heal but it seems like we can never keep it cleared. Well anyway I hope we'll get to see some new pictures soon:D
