So I’m posting this while I mourn the loss of my golden puffer. This was my 2nd golden that died. My first one died from a bad velvet outbreak after I introduced a, what I thought was a fully quarantined, new angel to the tank. I wish I held that angel longer in observation after qt in copper. None the less, the angel died and along with it the entire tank (golden puffer, yellow tangs, and a pb tang) minus 2 survivors, a clown trigger and zebra eel. I also had an emperator that had nearly completed qt. After keeping the tank fallow for more than 8 weeks I placed the zebra eel, clown trigger, and emperator in the tank. My eel passed due to old age. I got a 2nd golden puffer from my wife and kids on Father’s Day. The link below is a tribute to that puffer. Lessons learned: early intervention when you see signs of aggression, my golden puffer can be gentle giants that can stress out quickly if they are threatened. As a side, water parameters where fine before and after the puffer was introduced.
