Time to post my setup. Been working on it in one way or another for over a month. Some of you will recognize your old livestock. Everything is doing very well. Hope you enjoy. Please give me your feedback. Thank you SDReefs for all the help and education that has made this tank possible. I love the hobby (my wife and kids are mad at me though for spending too much time on it)!

DIY overflow box. I bought a tank without box and decided I needed one. Since my tank has the webbing and I was too much a chicken**** to cut it out (I am considering it now though) I had to make the box in two pieces to get it in the tank. I made it too small and had a hard time getting all the stuff inside. This shows the 1" emergency standpipe.
13005
Top view of drilled out tank with bulkheads and socket fittings attached. The center was planned for a return line but there was not enough room so I just capped it.
13009
overflow box with stand pipes installed. I had to offset the pipes towards the center to utilize the return outlets. I have since abandoned these as they reduce to 1/2" and restrict the flow too much. They are also set too low and will overflow my sump. I used a check valve but choose against relying on a valve in an emergency situation.
13004
Completed box as originally planned (have since removed adjustables and plumbed top mount returns
13007
Retunn piping - used 3/4" tubing with 1/2" pvc inserts to attach tubing. (Have replaced with top return 3/4" spa flex PVC piping

Looks good, but watch out I see the xenia is spreading like wild fire.
What's the story on the RBTA? What has it been doing?

at first i thought you had 6 pipes in your overflow because of the reflections.

I got the RBTA about a week or so ago from airsoftin. He said it was really hard to remove and thought he may have damaged it. After a day in my tank it started looking great. Now it looks horrible. it was attached to a rock at the bottom of the tank. I thought it might not be getting enough light so I s/u a 175w MH light shining through the side of the tank to give it more light. I have only been running 3-96w PC's, 1 50/50 (new bulb), 1 Actinic (older bulb) and one white (5 mo. old). The lights are only 33-inches centered on the 48" tank. Right now, the RBTA has detached from the rock and is on the sand. I think he may be a goner:(

great job with the tank. hope your rbta makes it. try feeding it meaty foods, if it takes it, then that's a good sign. feed it often and hopefully it bounces back. gl.

The RBTA died.:( It was damaged when I got it from tearing it off the rock. I did get a new one from Danny so my Clown will have a buddy. He hasn't taken to it yet though. All in time!

Thanks for looking and comments. I've learned a tremendous amount in the last few months. Now I want a bigger tank:) (My wife would shoot me though).

Almost two months since last pics. I just moved some a lot of the stuff around for the upteenth time and think I am finally satisfied (at least today). Double click the strip to maximize the pics. Hope you like the progress.

Do your lion & your dottyback leave your pistol shrimp alone? Do the pistols ever come out much?

The tiger that is paired with the goby comes out occasionally, usually when he is moving sand around. His "castle" is close to the front of the tank so I tend to see him more. My Bullseye castle is towards the back and I seldom see him, but I hear him popping. He tends to come out more at night. The fish do not bother the shrimp at all (so far).
