WanaLeime is going out for a while so he wanted to make sure his tank looked good before he left. prior to this reaquascaping a few things had fallen and he just left them where they settled. this turned out to be an all day project. here's what we started with.

before we took everything out i snapped a shot of my favorite coral in the tank. this bright green pagoda has been doing very good in here. if anyone wants a frag of the pink zoos or the cabbage leather also in this shot i have frags of both available.

moving water between the storage bin and the display tank. you can see the bottom half of the new set up there.

here's the bin that held most of the corals, LR, and water during this massive undertaking.

in the cooler you'll see his inverts, fish, clean up crew, a couple rocks for cover, and a couple corals. that three headed thoadstool looks crazy. i'll narrow it down to one head eventually. can you find Marlin? nemo died a long time ago.

we also upgraded his 2x96 to 4x96. this was the one that took forever. we went up to OG to buy retainer clips for the bulbs. then we lost all our clips. then we looked for them forever! never found 'em, and had to go back and buy even more! OMG we were pissed. it took about 3hrs to install some clips. less than 5min of that was actual installation.

this is the final set up. i think he did a damn good job (i just handed him the rocks :D). with three huge caves and the sides wide open the fish were lovin it. corals still a lil angry but with the new lights they'll be much happier. i got some stuff from his tank... i'll make available pretty soon in my july batch. he said he'd post up some pics when the water clears up and all the corals open again.

Its a 70 gal. tall w/ 20gal REEFugium:D total= 90 gal
I've had the tank for about 8 years now. but this system is only about 1 1/2 yr old. It's nice to look at but a Bi@t*h to work on, cause it so tall, I can barely touch the bottom. I planned on upgrading to hailides, but i can't afford a chiller right now, plus when I get back I plan on getting a custom tank 48 x 30 X 30 or 36 x 30 x 30. Then I'll go all out.

My little bro, (well not so little anymore)Marlooney didn't like it, said it looked to fake. So I decided to do another. Heres the Second:

It actually looked better than that, rocks just stared falling when i tried to put in a second feather duster in a specific spot. it took 3 me hours!!! damn rocks wouldn't staty in place and aquascape became a mess. i gave up ..I just kinda let the rocks fall into place...it stayed that way for about 6 months until I decided to OVERHAUL. which bring us to the current set-up. Personally I like the Frist set-up. but this current one is TIGHT to though.

I think that the second set up was really good, looked very realistic..

I understand the reasoning behind placing the branch rock at the bottom, but nothing could look further from an actual reef.

It seems that a decision has to be made, realistic or sand bed friendly? With the maximum amount of sand exposed it kind of looks like a pier that got covered by rock. TTTTTTTT

Having said that I will say that yours looks better than mine :D
