i have a clear 4 life 29g acrylic that i have drilled for a closed loop with a mag 18 (yes a mag 18--1800gph) i have it with a 1.5" suction and 4-1/2" returns all hard plumbed. also i plumbed in a 1' drain to the sump where i have a coralife super skimmer ran by a sedra 5000 to be equal to a asm g3. for the return pump i am using a cheapo rio 1700. also i have a Schuran pico jetstream calcium reactor with a 5lb bottle. as far as lighting i have a hamilton reefstar 250w HQI with a 20k ushio bulb.

inside the tank:

LS= 30lbs
LR=45lbs figi

livestock: various sps, shrooms, clam, zoas, gsp, royal gramma, tomato clown, snails, hermits and emerald crab.

i love it i researched them for a while before investing in one and this one was far more efficent than most other on the market. also i use about half the co2 than most reactors with the same results. at this rate i wont have to refill my bottle for over a year or so. great reactor!!!!! i would recommend it to anyone with a tank under 150g.

yes but i wanted it to have no powerheads inside the tank and also i wanted to have a big skimmer with nothing hanging on the back of the tank. so i drilled a closed loop that consisted of a 1.5" bulkhead for the suction side and 4 1/2" fittings for the pressure side ran by a mag 18. also i have a 1" drain to the sump with a 1/2" return using a rio 1400. i wanted to maintain high flow inside the tank and run low flow through the sump. in the sump i am running the coralife super skimmer that is ran by a sedra 5000 needle wheel that skimms as good as a asm g2 or g3. and also i am running carbon and phosphate sponge. and i am only running a single 250w hqi with a 20k bulb. i need to run a chiller on it but for know i am running a clip fan on a timer and if needed i have a couple of ice bottles to pull the temp down if it gets to hot but that is rare since it doesnt get that hot here. but thanks for the comments and ill post more as it come along.
