Just added this guy to the tank today. No aggression issues and he’s out in the open swimming, but he hasn’t eaten for me yet.

Would love to hear any of your experience keeping them.

Feed fresh or frozen clams. Just put the open clam on the sand bed. You can rubber band some mesh around it so other fish can’t eat t all and the butterfly can get to the food

Cool, where did you get him, and do you know what region it was collected?
Ausies are supposed to be best if needed for aptasia.

They really vary in what they will pick at, some do pick at softies, some don't, some eat apt and some not, and key is getting to eat right away, but I normally save the black worms unless they just don't eat, I don't like my fish to get to picky for live foods unless I have to.

Mysis should be good, or other mix of frozen like rods.
Some will pick at pods.

They all will eat feathers and gorgonians, clams, so those should not be kept in same tank.

Thanks guys. I picked him up from Shipwreck Cove. I know they can track where the fish is from, but I forgot to look at the tag.

I know it’s a risk. I haven’t seen him go for anything yet but will definitely be keeping a close eye. I have a clam and some softies in the tank. It should be pretty evident since nothing else in the tank goes after coral.

Starting off I’m feeding mysis shrimp and Rod’s food two-three times a day to see if I can get him to eat frozen. Then I’ll move onto live food.

The clam will be eaten, I'd be ready to pull it

Well, this is the stage we are in now. He’s wiped out all feather dusters/anything like them on the rocks.

Still hasn’t taken a look at anything frozen, flake, or pellet. Luckily, he hasn’t taken a look at my maxima either.

Trying to feed a thawed clam now just wondering if that’s going to set a bad precedent if he actually goes for it.

Live black worms, vets pets sells them as well as pet kingdom. Just swap out there water with fresh water everyday and keep in the fridge, a couple teaspoons should do well to get you started

Thanks man. Wish it was a little closer.
Might be my best option though.

Clam or the fish. Your choice. I’m willing to bet $$$ that he’s eating by tomorrow if you’re feeding clams

Figured I’d keep everyone updated since I appreciate the advice.

Copperband is looking okay. Lost a little color in the past few days, but doesn’t look too thin.

I went by Vets Pets to try to get some live black worms to try those, but they were out.

Luckily, I saw him go after a couple pieces of frozen today. Fingers crossed that he continues to eat that since I only saw him grab two small pieces.

Also, the clam hasn’t been given a second look, but I’m considering rehoming him just in case. Prob moving to the frag tank today.
