Picked up this little guy at Aquatic Warehouse over the weekend. They had a bunch of them that they didn't order and want rid of them. $5 each. I got a small one, about 2.5". Been eating like a champ and seems happy so far.

Anyone know anything about "sand puffers"? Doesn't seem to be a common puffer that people get. So far he doesn't seem too aggressive, except when stealing a bite of shrimp from the hippo tang.

He does a good amount of swimming around but likes to bury in the sand bed too. Fun to watch. I haven't gotten a picture of him buried yet, but will try to catch that.

Has he been friendly with your corals?

Yes, but I don't have much for corals. Guys at AW figured inverts might be on it's hit list tho. I don't have any shrimp, but he hasn't looked at my snails or crabs... Yet.

Yeh ive heard in a few months once the puffers get comfy they usually single out certain corals or inverts. Time will tell!

I remember seeing a video on youtube of a wild puffer in the ocean making a really cool circular pattern in the sand.... could this be the same puffer?
